Obituary for Lorraine A Leonard (Lussier)

Lorraine (Lussier) Leonard, 92 of North Adams died Friday evening June 5, 2020 at the Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in North Adams on August 9, 1927 a daughter of the late Prosper Edward Lussier and Rose Marie (Urbano) Lussier. Lorraine attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1945. She was employed at the former Sprague Electric Company for many years. Lorraine also worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area and was last employed at the Librarian at the Transcript for 15 years retiring in 1989.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams where she was a member Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister and a staff member for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program. She later became a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Lorraine was an active member of the Northern Berkshire Community. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Clarksburg Senior Center, volunteered at North Adams Regional Hospital and at the St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards with family and friends.
Her husband Earl E. "Bud" Leonard whom she married October 1, 1949 in St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams died April 6, 1999. Survivors include four children, Linda Reardon, Karen LaBelle and her husband Craig and Dawn Archambeau and her husband David and David Leonard Sr. and his wife Charlotte.
Lorraine also leaves eight grandchildren, David Brazeau, Amber McLain, Jodie Pilot, Kiersten Vallieres, Rev. Jonathan Reardon, Mary Gazaille, David Leonard Jr. Daniel Archambeau, and ten great grandchildren. Two sisters Charlotte Robert and Mary Joan Clements and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her companion, Lou Casuscelli. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Robert Reardon and five brothers Edward, Kenneth, Paul, Francis and Donald Lussier.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday June 10, 2020 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
