Obituary for Dorothy Ann Zwirba

Dorothy “Dotty” Ann (Rice) Zwirba, 77, of Pittsfield, MA passed away peacefully at her home under Hospice Care on Thursday June 18, 2020. She was born into a Catholic family in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, a daughter to the late, Frank and Antoinette (Uddgren) Rice. She attended Catholic school in Brooklyn graduating from High School there. She had many careers in her life of travels. Primarily, she was a waitress in diners and restaurants from Brooklyn and Long Island, NY to Myrtle Beach, SC, Colorado Springs, CO and Pittsfield, MA. If anyone was ever looking for her and she was not home or working, they always knew to check the local OTB or casino. She moved to Pittsfield in 1994 where she spent the later years of her life becoming well known to many as a cashier at the Cumberland Farms in Pittsfield.
She was the widow of the late Charles Zwirba. Predeceased by her two sisters Joan Mobayed and Lorain Procida. Survivors include her three sisters Francine Warcholak, Loretta Rice, and Florence Victor. Her two sons who she cherished to her last breath, Frank Zwirba of Pittsfield, MA, and Charles Zwirba of Richmond, MA. Her beloved granddaughter, her pride & joy in life, Samantha Zwirba of Richmond, MA and her grandson, Justin Zwirba of Pittsfield, MA.
Per her request there are no formal services. Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, MA is in charge of arrangements.
