Obituary for Patricia Louise "Patty" Winn
Patty Winn, 73, of Pleasantview Dr in Dalton and former longtime resident of N Hoosac Rd, Williamstown, died peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2020, surrounded by her family at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.
Eldest child of the late Elbert “Bud” and Ruth (Chase) Winn, born in North Adams November 29, 1946, she attended Williamstown Elementary and graduated from Mt Greylock High School. Patty obtained her associates degree from SUNY Canton where she met her future husband, Peter Brower.
She was employed by General Electric, the Central Berkshire Regional School District, Wahconah High School, Miss Hall’s School, and was a warm, professional hostess working with her children at their family run restaurants. Patty passionately volunteered for Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter for more than a decade.
Patty had a special bond with her grandson, Joey. She was blessed to help raise him from birth rather than send him to a sitter when his parents needed to work. During his childhood through teen years they would travel on vacation together once per summer visiting historical areas in the north east. He was introduced proudly as her handsome grandson. Joey always greeted her with, “Hello, Gorgeous!”
Attending local athletic games, researching family genealogy, weekend camping, bingo, sewing, and crafting for fairs were some of her favorite things. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Peter, to Ireland, Hawaii, Washington State, Colorado, Tennessee, Florida and frequently having Christmas or New Years in Long Island with her step-children. A faithful Catholic, Patty attended St. Patrick’s Parish in Williamstown and St. Agnes in Dalton.
Patty leaves behind her husband, Peter Brower, and their blended family that includes Patty’s children: Robert Jasso Jr of Colorado, Risa (Jasso) and son-in-law Joe Maynard of Pittsfield, Peter’s children: Peter John Brower, Christopher Brower, Brian Brower, and Yvonne Brower, all of Long Island, and Grandchildren: Joey Maynard, Nicholas, Elizabeth, William, and Emma Brower, Patty’s niece Tracy (Winn) Davis and grandniece Jayden DeCell, along with many cousins. Her brother, Elbert J. Winn Jr. died Oct. 4, 1988.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial for family and close friends will be celebrated Wednesday September 30, 2020 at 11AM at St's Patrick & Raphael Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton, MA. The funeral will be live streamed on Facebook after you like Flynn & Dagnoli FB page.
