Obituary for Susan Ann Mahoney (Caropreso)

Susan Ann (Caropreso) Mahoney, 69 of Pittsfield, MA passed on January 3, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 30, 1951, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Rita J. (Belcher) Caropreso. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1969. Susan attended Berkshire Community College where she graduated with a degree in nursing. She became a registered nurse and worked for 32 years at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. She was the manager of the south 2 unit. Sue just recently became a certified dementia care professional. She also helped plan the 25th anniversary celebration of the nursing program at BCC. Sue was a consummate nurse and loved by all!
She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Susan enjoyed camping, shopping, baking and cooking. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her annual trips to Maine and Florida. Sue’s heart and soul was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters- Allison N. Melle (David) of Dalton and Sarah J. Lampro (Jorge) of Pittsfield and two sons- Eric M. Mahoney(Nicole)and Shaun P. Mahoney, both of Pittsfield. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren including Lauren, Laci, Braedon, Rylan, Leah, Alora, Jake, Liam, Shelby, Harper, Anya, Colby, Isabella, Jocelyn, Gabriel and Samuel; three sisters including Sandra (Joseph) Delgallo, Debra(John) Ciullo and Rosemary (Mark) Sacchetti all of Pittsfield and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, friends & her beloved Mt. Greylock family.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Susan Mahoney will be celebrated Saturday January 9, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Burial will follow in Fairview cemetery in Dalton. A live-stream of the service will be available by going to www.saintagnescc.com.
