Lawrence Arthur Duby, 89 of North Adams, MA died Friday February 12, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in North Adams, MA on October 19, 1931, a son of George and Yvonne (Garand) Duby. He attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School, graduated from Assumption High School in Worcester, and received his bachelor's degree from Bryant College.
Lawrence was a veteran of the Korean War and served four years in the US Air Force. He was employed by the Eagle Lumber Company for many years until his retirement, and also worked as a carpenter for several years.
Lawrence loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family. He was also an avid reader and in his younger years enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing.
His wife was Lucille Jeannette (Robert) Duby who died on August 26, 2008. They were married on May 3, 1958. Survivors include - his daughters Lynne DubyMartin of Lanesboro, MA ; Michelle Duby of North Adams MA; Jacqueline Dubreuil and her husband Peter, and Paula Fisher and her partner James Moriarty and his daughter Catherine, all of Lanesboro. He also leaves six grandchildren including Eric, his wife Anna Martin with their two children Arabella and Julian; Hannah, Ethan, and Ella Dubreuil, and Mackenzie and Cullen Fisher, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers including Jeannette Beebe, Lorraine Little, George , Daniel , and Richard Duby.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A private service for Lawrence Duby will be held at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. Burial will be in Southview cemetery.
