Obituary for Celia Esperanza Itchon

Celia Esperanza Itchon, 63 of Lanesboro, MA died on Thursday May 27, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Manila, Philippines on April 28, 1958, a daughter of Isabelo and Bebe (Barcelona) Itchon. She came to the US at age 9 and attended schools in New York City including PS 84 where she excelled in academics.
Celia moved to the Berkshires where she attended workshops through Berkshire County ARC. She was an active member of Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene. Celia had a fun life that included a lot of love and laughter. She enjoyed the Special Olympics, camping, mission trips to Maine, going out to eat, bowling, word searches, parades, cruises and bus trips. Celia loved the Colonial Theater, live music, celebrations and dances. She would also sing at church.
Celia leaves behind many friends including her best friends Val Tracy and Linda West and the staff at her home in Lanesboro who took great care of her in her final days. She also leaves her two sisters- Marie Walsh of Falmouth, MA and her two daughters- Lyndsey Walsh and Kelly Walsh Turner and her husband, Bryan; and Grace Itchon and her husband, Joe Rollins of Raleigh, NC and their children- Brittany, Anthony, Jordon, Isaac, and Gabriel; her two grandnephews- Hollace and Ryley and her good neighbors Kathy and Dan Sayers.


FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Celia Itchon will be held on Friday June 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene, 165 North St. Dalton, MA. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. A calling hour at the church will be Friday from 12-1. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME at 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is in charge of arrangements.
