Obituary for Harold Novick

Harold Novick, 99 of Sharon, MA died Thursday November 4, 2021 at Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Needham, MA.
He was born in Bronx, NY on May 6, 1922, a son of Max Novick and Anna (Goldfarb) Novick.
Harold graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx and received his master’s degree in social work from Columbia University.
Harold was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army as a surgical technician in the European Theater of operations. Assisting the injured from such notable battles as Omaha beach in the invasion of Normandy and Battle of the Bulge.
Harold was the executive director of the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth in Canaan, NY for 17 years until his retirement in 1995. Before that, he was the executive director of the Children's Center in Hamden, CT and Glenn Mills School for Boys in Glen Mills, PA. He was a member of Congregation Knesset Israel in Pittsfield.
His wife was Gladys (Schortz) Novick who died on June 12, 2002. They were married on June 10, 1956. Survivors include one son- David M. Novick of Sharon, MA; three grandchildren- Zachary, Brandon, and Rachel and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Michele Renee Novick on October 12, 2017 and two brothers- Abe and Isaac.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Harold Novick will be held on Sunday November 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Knesset Israel Cemetery, 484 Pecks Rd. Pittsfield, MA with Rabbi David Weiner officiating.
