Geraldine Belle (Crew) Barbuto, 89, of North Adams, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at North Adams Commons. She was born in Dalton, MA, on December 27, 1931, a daughter of Hubert D. and Evelyn M. (Kent) Crew. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and obtained her nursing degree from Bishop Memorial Nursing School in Pittsfield. Geraldine was a devoted nurse through her life. She was employed at North Adams Regional Hospital and then for the City of North Adams School system as a school nurse, retiring from McCann Vocational Technical High School. She was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Nurses Association, devoted communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in North Adams, and, most of all, she loved spending time her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Robert Barbuto, Jr. (Leah) of Plainfield, CT, grandchildren Haley Moreau (David Floriani) of North Adams, Robert Moreau (Julia) of North Adams, Marc Moreau (Mykayla Parisi) of Pittsfield. She also leaves great- grandchildren Dominic Moreau, Jaxson Moreau, Aubrey Floriani, Eva Moreau, her niece and Godchild Jeanne Morin of Pittsfield, her nephew and Godchild Francis Dargie of North Adams, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, a daughter Lynn Ann Swanson and two sisters Marilyn J. Morin and Elaine M. Crew.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dalton, MA.
