Obituary for Jeanne Nancy Clancy (Ellsworth)
Jeanne Nancy (Ellsworth) Clancy, 81 of Pittsfield, MA died on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born in Pittsfield, MA on February 21, 1940 a daughter of the late Nelson C. Ellsworth and Cecilia A. (Szetela) Ellsworth. Jeanne attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School.
Jeanne worked at Berkshire Medical Center for many years as a switchboard operator until her retirement. Jeanne was a communicant of St. Marks Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, gardening, and spending time with her grand dog Colby who she adored greatly. Jeanne was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her
Jeanne was the widow of Joseph J. Clancy who died on June 14, 1998; they were married on October 21, 1960. She is survived by one son, Joseph J. Clancy Jr. of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Lynn Clancy and Kimberly Clancy; one sister, Kathleen Wendling, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon DeVos; her son, Shaun Clancy; her daughter in law, Valerie Clancy and her sister- Patricia DeAlmeida Van Zandt.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A service to celebrate the life of Jeanne Clancy will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm Street Pittsfield, MA 01201 with the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00PM.
