Obituary for Cheryl Ann Gilbert

Cheryl Ann Gilbert 73, of Cheshire, MA. died Wednesday January 19, 2022 at the Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield on January 16, 1949 a daughter of the late William and Grace (DeRosia) Gilbert.
Cheryl attended schools in Pittsfield including Pittsfield High School. She started her career in the Power Transformer Division at the General Electric Company in Pittsfield in 1973, later transferred into Naval Ordnance Department and retired with General Dynamics in 2010 with 37 years of loyal service. She started in the Cabling Unit and advanced to the position of Logistics Provisioner. Cheryl took her job seriously and was very proud of the work she did in support of the Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile Programs.
Survivors include her fiancé Paul Corbosiero of Cheshire, loving children James Anello and his wife Becky of Pittsfield and Tina (Anello) Mole and her husband James of Pittsfield, sisters Barbara Cozine, Claudine Clarke and brother Bruce Gilbert. She was predeceased by her brother Nelson Gilbert of Central, NC. She also leaves behind Amy and Michael St. Andre of Southborough, MA. Grandchildren, James Anello and his wife Gracemarie, Dominick Anello and fiancé Nellie McLear, Kayla Baumann and fiance Peter Anderson, Ryan Tucker, Ashley Mole, Avery St.Andre, Ryan St.Andre, and Alyssa St.Andre. Great grandchildren Olivia Anderson, Audrina Anello, Carter Anderson, Weston Anello and many nieces and nephews. She leaves her beloved cat Phoebe.
Cheryl’s greatest joy was time spent with family. She loved attending sporting events that the family participated in and especially family gatherings for the holidays. She loved country dancing and will always be remembered for her contagious laugh. Her great grandchildren miss their daily Facetiming with “GG”.
Private funeral services will take place at the Flynn & Dagnoli- Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home. A Celebration of Cheryl’s life will take part this Summer when all are invited.
