Obituary for Adelheid Vandana "Heidi" Pramhas

Adelheid /Heidi Vandana Pramhas 65 of Pittsfield, MA passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday May 11th, 2022.

Vandana was born in Steyr, Austria on December 14, 1956 to Ernestine and Josef Pramhas.

She is predeceased by her parents and long term partner Linda Erhard and leaves behind many close friends, her brother Horst Pramhas ( Austria) , and former husband Eric Sisler (Minnesota).

As a youth, Vandana was a champion Slalom skier and was part of an Alpine Hiking Youth Club. She grew up in an idyllic mountain farming village in Austria where her brother Horst still lives. There she also studied and taught German to foreign student .

As an adult, she continued having many outdoor adventures, including working on a farm in Maine with her dear friends the Bagnulo family, and visited Hawaii several time , as it held a special place in her heart. Vandana also canoed in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (Minnesota) and has backpacked in many of the US National Parks including Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, the Grand Canyon, Sawtooth National Forest, Sierra Nevada National Park and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

After coming to the United States, Vandana studied Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute, and Yoga and bodywork at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox Mass. She also studied homeopathy, Dynamic Craniosacral therapy, Qigong, and herbal remedies. She was a member of the Kripalu Yoga community in Lenox, MA for many year , where she worked in the Healing Arts department and the Kripalu Shop .

Vandana loved hiking in Kennedy Park and throughout the Berkshires. She also enjoyed skiing at Notchview (Windsor MA), and spending many hours in her large beautiful garden at home, doing her Qigong Spiritual practices and teaching Qigong classes.
