Obituary for Giuseppe Talora
Giuseppe Talora, 82 of Pittsfield, MA died Monday August 29, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in Francavilla Angitola, province of Calabria, Italy on May 15, 1940, a son of Vincenzo and Maria (Carchedi) Talora. He attended Italian schools.
When younger, Giuseppe, began working on the family farm in Italy and as a carpenter. He came to Pittsfield in 1956 where he started work at Berkshire Roofing, he spent 45 years there until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Joe was a member of the Italian American Club and Sons of Italy Lodge #564 for over 55 years. He enjoyed playing bocce, gardening, and making his own wine. Joe loved walking his dog, "Gina" and spending time with his family, especially making zeppoles at Christmas time. His love of food and family will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Marylou (Sykes) Talora, whom he married on May 13, 2006 and a daughter- Tina M. McLaughlin (David Joyner) of Lee, MA ; a son- Joseph M. Talora (Shannon Petersoli) of Peru, MA and a step-daughter Gretchen Miller (William) of Richmond, VA. He also leaves seven grandchildren including Amanda McLaughlin, Sean McLaughlin, Karli Talora, Kaeli Talora, Kyra Miller, Lacy Miller and Thomas Miller; two sisters- Barbara Morini of Italy and Evanna Kennedy of Las Vegas, NV; one brother- Frank Talora of Cheshire along with nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters- Vincenza F. Talora and Eleanor Ventrici.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Giuseppe Talora will be celebrated Friday September 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are private.
