Obituary for Nancy Gaudette (Mazza)

Nancy (Mazza) Gaudette, 80 of Williamstown, MA died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at her home. Nancy was born in North Adams, MA on November 21, 1941, a daughter of Samuel and Stacia (Wojnicki) Mazza. She attended North Adams schools and was a 1960 graduate of Drury High School.
Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Our Lady of the Elm’s in Chicopee, MA, where she majored in history and had an education minor. She further obtained a Master in Education from North Adams State College. She taught four years at Cheshire Elementary School and for twenty-two years at Johnson School in North Adams.
Nancy married Raymond E. Gaudette, Jr. on July 15, 1978 at St. Anthony’s Church. He predeceased her on October 30, 2018.
She was a member of the Williamstown Garden Club, the Berkshire County Department of Developmental Disabilities Service, the Human Right Committee for BFAIR and the Citizens Advisory Committee D.D. S.
Nancy loved to do crafts, knit and tend to her gardens. She was also an avid reader. Nancy was also a very active walker.
Nancy leaves several cousins, including Carole Kalisz and Lina Madia. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Peter Mazza in 2016. The family would like to thank Heather Durocher and her team of caregivers , Corey Ciepiela, Karen Pessolano, Ellen Boucher, Tammy Lussier and Jeanne Coughian for the excellent care they provided for Nancy in her time of need. The family would also like to thank Richard Weld for his care and help as well.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St .Elizabeth of Hungary Church n North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. A calling hour will take on Satrurday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for the St. Patrick Food Pantry or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires through the funeral home.
