Obituary for Gillio Anthony "Gene" Vivori

Gillio Anthony "Gene" Vivori, 97 of North Adams, MA died Saturday October 1, 2022 at Williamstown Commons.
He was born in North Adams, MA on March 11, 1925, a son of Joseph Mario and Emma Luigia (Regaioli) Vivori. He attended local schools including Drury High School.
Gene was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army in Europe where he saw action serving with Company A of the 20th Engineers Combat Battalion.
Gene retired after 31 years from the US Post Office as the Head of Maintenance. After his retirement, he enjoyed going fishing and baseball. He especially enjoyed seeing his friends and talking about the NY Yankees. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and celebrating holidays with family.
Gene was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #125; VFW Post #996 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Bruna M. (Piantoni) Vivori whom he married on July 30, 1955; one daughter- Christine (Thomas) Ramsdell of North Adams, MA; and two sons- Ross A. (Michele) Vivori of North Adams, MA and David M. (Barbara) Vivori of North Adams. He also leaves five grandchildren- Amanda Banks, Brad Vivori, Chase Vivori, Kayla Vivori and Nicholas Vivori; five great grandchildren- Vincent, Benjamin, Jude, Luke and Jayda; one sister- Olga Gassett of South Windsor, CT and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister- Anna Tremblay, Joseph Vivori, and Amadeo Vivori.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gene Vivori will be celebrated Thursday October 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Thursday morning from 9-10:30 AM.
