Obituary for Isaak Saltanovich

Isaak Saltanovich passed peacefully surrounded by his family on November 7, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1930. His childhood years were during WW2 and he was a holocaust survivor.

During his younger years, he served in the army for 4 years, often relocating from one location to another. One of the places that he moved was Belarus where he met his future wife, Nina. They were married for 69 years. While in Ukraine, Isaak worked in a beverage production factory. He was a supervisor, managing a team responsible for automated production. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1995 to Berkshire county.

Isaak was full of life, with a great sense of humor. He loved playing chess, skiing, skating, bicycling, and driving. He also enjoyed physical fitness and taking long walks around his neighborhood every single day.
He was very handy and very technologically and computer savvy. He had the latest version of everything and was better on his iPhone and computer than some young people!

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His wife Nina, two sons -Boris and Leonid, two granddaughters-Julia and Alla.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services for Isaak will be on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2 PM at Knesset Israel Cemetery. Donations may be made to Jewish Federation of the Berkshire for Ukraine in crisis fund in care of the FLYNN @ DAGNOLI -BENCIEVENGA Funeral home - 5 Elm St. Pittsfield MA 01201.
