Born in Sondrio, Italy, on December 9, 1937, son of Pietro Besseghini and Maria Carnazzola Besseghini, he attended school in Italy. Dino immigrated to the United States in 1959, living briefly in Queens, NY with his brother, Dr. Italo Besseghini before moving to Adams Massachusetts to live with his Zia Rosa and Zio Santino Carnazzola above Carnazzola’s Market on Howland Avenue.

He met his beloved wife of 59 years, Anna Marchetti, at the Pine Brook Club in Cheshire in 1959 and they were married on May 30, 1963 at Mt. Carmel Church in Pittsfield.

Dino was employed by Arnold Printworks and by Swift Company, as truck driver, before becoming a meat cutter at Adams Supermarket on Dalton Avenue. He became the Meat Manager there until the chain sold to Big Y and was the Meat Manager at Big Y on West Street until his retirement in 1996.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for five years. An outstanding soccer player and all-around athlete, Dino played soccer for multiple local clubs well into his 50’s and was inducted into the Berkshire County Soccer Hall of Fame as a “Godfather of Soccer” in 2008. He was an avid skier until he gave it up in his late 70’s and enjoyed golfing with his friends, his daughter, Diana, and his wife, Anna. Dino also loved to travel, whether it was to Italy, cruising the Baltics, or the safari in Africa he and his wife took for their 50th anniversary.

Dino was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Dr. Italo Besseghini and Giovanni Besseghini both of Buffalo, NY, and his niece, Ivana Besseghini Redaelli of Chuiro, Province of Sondrio, Italy.
