Obituary for Dorothy Loraine Racette (Moreau)
Dorothy Loraine (Moreau) Racette, 89 of North Adams, MA died on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022 at Williamstown Commons surrounded by her children.
She was born in North Adams, MA on April 7, 1933, a daughter of Albert H. Moreau and Bertha (Dupuis) Moreau. She attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School and completed its Commercial Course.
Dorothy was employed by North Adams State College for 28 years until her retirement in 1998. Before that, she worked at Sprague Electric Co for 15 years and also at New England Telephone Co.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of its Rosary Society. Dorothy was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and enjoyed travel.
Her husband, Donald J. Racette died on January 11, 2020. Survivors include two daughters- Debra A. (Thomas) DeGray and Beverly J. (Jody) Racette, both of North Adams and one son- Daniel J. (Sandy) Racette of North Adams. She also leaves four grandchildren- Kristen Racette, Michael Racette, Nicholas Modena, and Christopher Modena; six great grandchildren- Devon, Kolby, Eli, Matt, Hannah, Leandra; one sister- Florence Benson of Williamstown and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dorothy Racette will be celebrated Thursday December 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Wednesday from 3-6 PM.
