Obituary for Ernest Francis Dix Sr.

Ernest Francis Dix Sr., 75 of Clarksburg died on Thursday December 8, 2022 at home.
Ernest was born in North Adams on August 13, 1947 a son of Theresa (Rondeau) Dix and the late John Edward Dix. He graduated from Drury High School. Ernest had a love for the outdoors; maintained a gentlemen's farm; loved his horses, bingo, hunting, horse pulling and most importantly spending time with his family and his dog Clover. He also was a member of the Greylock Community Club.
Ernest was employed by Krutiak Wood Products Company in Clarksburg and was last employed by Savoy Hollows. He served as the tree warden for the Town of Clarksburg a position that brought him great pride. He married his wife, Lisa (Gaffey) Dix on July 3, 1992.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Ernest “Butch” Dix Jr. (Kim), Steven Dix (Jennifer), Tammy Dix (Joe) and Christopher Dix. He also leaves 12 grandchildren including, Alicia, Tabby, Butchy, Luke, Noah, Haylee, Josh, Sarah, Jordan, Anna-Belle, Steven,Vladimir. He also leaves his sisters, Geraldine Hyde (David) and Cynthia Candiloro (Mark Braman) who was a trusted and loyal friend. Ernest also leaves his brother, John “Jack” Dix (Marla) and Donald Dix (Cindy). He also leaves his great grandchildren, Novalyn, Benjamin, Bellamy, Harrison, Luna, Kynlee, Griffin and Lincoln; sisters in law-Barb Dix and Kathy Dix as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ernest was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth Dix and Michael Steven Dix. He was predeceased by a nephew, Donald Dix.
The family would like to thank the Berkshire Visiting Nurses, Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company and the North Adams Ambulance Service.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Service to celebrate the life of Ernest Dix Sr. will be on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes- WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247.
