Obituary for Richard Joseph "Dick" DeMyer

Richard “Dick” Joseph DeMyer, 74 of New Ashford, MA died at Berkshire Medical Center on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He was born in North Adams, MA on August 28, 1948, a son of Richard H. and Margaret (Haddad) DeMyer.
Richard was raised in Williamstown, MA and was a 1966 graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School. He also attended college for two years. Richard married the former Cheryl Elaine Richardson and together lovingly raised their three children.
Richard was a decorated US Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He later worked as an entrepreneur in area restaurants and construction businesses. He was long manager of Bob’s Country Restaurant in Lanesboro. He also was involved civically in the town of New Ashford, serving as the Town Clerk and Veterans Service Officer.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Cheryl and his three children; Tamara Parker, Darren DeMyer and Travis DeMyer. He also leaves his two sisters; Judith Chick (Edson) of Plymouth, VT, and Susan Nemser (Charles) of Cheshire and his three brothers; Ronald DeMyer (Wendy) of Williamstown, David DeMyer of Pittsfield and Stephen DeMyer of New Ashford. In addition he leaves five grandchildren,; Brandon, Sean, Jason and Phoenix DeMyer and Zachery Parker, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his uncle C. William “Duke” DeMyer.
