Obituary for Kevin Michael Tetlow

Kevin Tetlow, 49, of Pittsfield MA, died on Monday, January 23rd at Hillcrest Commons hospice care. He was born in Pittsfield on May 17, 1974, the only son of the late Ronald and Beverly Tetlow. He graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1992.
Kevin worked at Cavallero Plastics for eleven years as a machine operator. Over the last six years Kevin worked at the Berkshire Eagle, placing coupon slips into the newspaper in preparation for delivery. Kevin was a loyal member and volunteer at Western Massachusetts Labor Action in Pittsfield since 2012.
Kevin loved woodworking, and spent spare time at a small wood shop with his best friend Toby, making things like ornamental candlestick holders on a lathe out of varieties of wood. He was an “old soul” who listened to Pink Floyd and The Doors. Kevin was extremely kind and gentle with everyone, and had a great sarcastic sense of humor.
Over the last year of his life, even after he was diagnosed with stage four cancer, Kevin devoted all of his time to volunteering at WMLA, seven days a week. Kevin answered the phones, staffed the benefit clothing office, where members of WMLA come to get good quality used clothing and household items, filled food requests for members, and attended membership meetings. Kevin was extremely dedicated and appreciated by all the members, volunteers and supporters at WMLA who knew him.
Kevin is predeceased by his parents Ronald and Beverly and is not survived by any family. He frequently told his co-volunteers at WMLA, “You guys are my family.”
