Obituary for Valerie Caroline Piantoni (Wolkowicz)
Valerie Caroline (Wolkowicz) Piantoni, 91 of Adams, MA died on Friday March 3, 2023 at Craneville Place in Dalton.
She was born in Adams, MA on October 19, 1931, a daughter of Andrew John Wolkowicz and Caroline Mary (Bulsa) Wolkowicz. She attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and graduated from Adams High School with the class of 1950.
Valerie worked at Sprague Electric Co. for 42 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Valerie had a way to make people smile, would always lend a helping hand, and had a love for animals.
Her husband was Lino Edward Piantoni who died on September 29, 2006. They were married on July 18, 1953 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Survivors include: Niece Debra Jozefiak and her husband Gary of Adams, MA; Grandnieces Sarah Jozefiak of Durham, NC and Lori O’Dell and her husband Kirk, and daughter Briella (great grandniece) of Bennington, VT; Nephew Paul Segala and his wife Jennifer of Hobe Sound, FL; and Grandnephews Austin Segala of Dover, DE and Troy Segala and his wife and daughter of New York City.
She was predeceased by two sisters- Dorothy Lauth who died on Nov. 7, 2021 and Florence Segala who died on Feb. 20, 1999.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Valerie Piantoni will be Saturday March 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. A calling hour for family and close friends will be Saturday morning from 9-10 AM.
