Obituary for Elizabeth Marie Duxbury Serrano (Lyons)
Elizabeth Marie (Lyons) Duxbury Serrano, 91 of Saratoga Springs, NY and formerly of North Adams, MA died on Sunday March 12, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital.
She was born in Cheshire, MA on February 5, 1932, a daughter of Paul Lyons and Lulu (Curtis) Lyons. She attended schools in Cheshire and North Adams including the former St. Joseph's High School.
Elizabeth worked at FW Woolworth in North Adams and then at the former Northern Berkshire Rubber Stamp Manufacturing Co until her retirement in 1991.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Adams. Elizabeth was a former member of the Eagles in North Adams and was an active volunteer with the Berkshire Food Project.
She was the widow of Eusebio "Pete" Serrano who died on November 2, 2019. They were married on April 11, 1980. Her first husband was Donald H. Duxbury who died on June 15, 1972.
Survivors include her son, Bruce Noel Duxbury and his wife, Mary L. Duxbury of Ballston Spa, NY and two grandchildren- Chad Duxbury and Samantha Duxbury. She also leaves a stepson- Manuel J. Serrano of North Adams, MA; three step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters- Margaret, Annamae, Kenneth, Joseph and Edward.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Elizabeth Duxbury Serrano will be Friday April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 10-11 AM. Memorial donations May be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
