Obituary for Richard James Weld
Richard James Weld, 89 of Williamstown died on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Williamstown Commons. He was born on June 1, 1933 in North Adams, Ma a son of the late Delia Gagnon and Chauncey Weld.
Richard attended Drury High School and graduated with the class of 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force and service his country during the Korean War era. He was employed as a fireman by the North Adams Fire Department retiring in 1989 after 30 years of loyal service. He was a member of the North Adams Elks, American Legion and State Firearms Association.
Survivors include his former wife, Claire M. Perreault of Naples Florida and two nieces, nephews and cousins . He was predeceased by his brothers, William Weld, John Weld and the late Carolyn Beverly.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Richard James Weld will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sherman Burbank Chapel in Williamstown. Burial with full military honors and fire department honors will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
