Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Barosso, 92 of Pittsfield died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility where she had resided for three days. She was born in Pittsfield on April 8, 1924 a daughter of the late Erasimo and Vittorio Caparelli Carnevale. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942. She was employed for nine years as an inspector at the General Electric Co. in the plastics division and then was employed at the Berkshire Eagle in the collating dept. for sixteen years retiring in 1986. She enjoyed traveling with her family on Dufour tours, Becket Senior tours and cruises, including a cruise with her husband to the five islands. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, baking, crocheting and playing search words and jumble in the Berkshire Eagle, watching the Wheel of Fortune and Chronicles on television and spending time with her family. Her husband, Enrico Barosso died on June 30, 2013 and they were married on January 8, 1949. Survivors include her son, Thomas Barosso, her daughter, Christine Barosso, her sister, Carmen Walto and her husband Virgilio, all of Pittsfield, her sister-in-law Virginia DeCarlo of Cheshire and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph R., Victor and Rocco A. Carnevale and five sisters, Maria Genovese, Philomena Dus, Natalie M. Carnevale RN, Jeanne Caropreso, and Nancy Froio.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Charles Church, 89 Briggs Ave., Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 will be Thursday, October 13 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
