Donald and Girls: Your wife/mother had been part of my long distance professional life for many years, from our time in oncology social work and the conference in Monterey, CA. Ellen would often tell me that she was my Jewish mother and kept track of whether I was celebrating the Jewish holidays correctly with my children. She was a force of nature and an amazing mentor and friend. I remember when she retired and then I used to occasionally see her on Facebook. I remember visiting your home in NYC across from Central Park. When I contacted her that I was coming to NYC for fun and not for a meeting, she scolded me for not coming earlier because you were selling and retiring and would not be there when my daughter and I were coming for long weekend in the big city.
