Stella Schecter, 98 of Lenox, died Thursday December 6,2018 in the comfort of her own home.
Stella was born in Vienna, Austria and came to the United States in 1939.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Schecter, with whom she built a life with for 68 years.
Stella was a seamstress maven, and worked in the garment district of NYC and made dresses for many, including Marilyn Monroe.
She was very active in Hadassah, and a past president of the Cranford NJ chapter.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dr Gary I. and Dawn M.Schecter, of Pittsfield. A daughter, Reba J. Schecter of Tyringham, and a grandaughter, Raquel M. Richter of NY, and her father, Edward S Richter of Lenox.
The family would like to thank Cecylia, Donna and Betty for everything they have done over the years to make this transition as comfortable as possible for Stella.
